Hello folks!
This week we are delving into the topic of modals. As this is quite a complex topic, today I’m reviewing some basics on how modal verb phrases are constructed and giving you an overview of what is and is not possible. Modal verb phrases operate a little differently in English than in German, which is where some of the errors in the modal verb phrase arise. Other errors occur with negation and occasionally with interrogatives both of which are addressed in this episode.
I will be returning to this topic in the near future with an episode on modal meaning. Of course, modals play a major role in conditional clauses too.
